Holyoke Finance Committee Approves Stormwater Grant and Three Fund Transfers

HOLYOKE — December 8, 2025 — Holyoke Finance Committee approves $250,000 stormwater grant and three fund transfers at December 8 meeting. The four-member panel, with Councilor Jordane absent, unanimously accepted a no-match Massachusetts Clean Water Trust grant for design work on the CSO7 combined sewer overflow zone near Northampton Street and Whiting Farms Road, a project officials said is at least two years from construction and part of a roughly 30-year citywide sewer separation effort. Fire Chief Catalvich secured approval of a $50,000 internal transfer for vehicle repair and supplies, telling the committee that parts costs have "doubled and tripled" due to consolidation by Rev Group, which he said has acquired KME and other apparatus manufacturers and created a national parts shortage. A $19,449 police department transfer for a lightly used vehicle purchase was also approved, as was a $7,712 payment to the City of Northampton for Holyoke's share of a regional bike share program; a $100,000 crisis relief appropriation was returned to the city auditor at the mayor's direction.
